Sjuk Liten Kanin... poorly little bunny...

Yep, feeling rather poorly... stupid chest cold! Have been couped up in bed all week and not getting any work done, which, unusually for me is actually rather frustrating... C'est la vie.

Anyway... I've decided to put up some of my prices for my new Petit Lapin Collection... This is not officially for sale yet... but will be up in 2 weeks... after I complete a big art commission. I really am very excited about it, but please be understanding and patient, I'll have the pieces up properly as soon as I can...

Here are some of the pieces and their costings: (Up, Up & Away Design shown - more designs to come in 2 weeks!!)

Reversible Pinny - $34 + p&h
The pinnies are all fully reversible and are handmade from Swedish Linen and Australian Cotton. Appliquéd on both sides with sweet childhood designs. They are joined at the top with snaps to make it easier for Mums and Dads to dress a wriggly bubba. At this point pinnies are one size (fits 6-12 months), however they can be worn in different ways up to toddler size...
6-12 months - full length pinny over nappy / bloomers
12 - 18 months - shorter pinny to wear with leggings etc.
Toddler - as a cute girly top... gorgeous with jeans!

Reversible Kimono Shoes - $18 + p&h
Shoes are also reversible. Handmade from Swedish Linen and Australian Cotton and Appliquéd to co-ordinate with the Pinnies and T-shirts. 3 sizes: 3-6 months, 6-12 months and 12-18 months.

T-shirts (girls and boys) - $14 +p&h
T-shirts are Appliquéd to co-ordinate with the Pinnies and Shoes. The Girls' T-shirts have cute little puffy sleeves (they look great under the pinnies or teamed with little jeans and kimono shoes!)

So there we have it! Prices!! These will be on sale from FRIDAY 18th SEPTEMBER in my etsy store.

Thanks so much for all of your lovely encouragement, now... back to sniffling and trying to get art done!

puss och kram!!

Gosh darn it, I love parcels!

It's true... I think one of the main reasons why I buy things on the internet (apart from the savings) is the fact that I get parcels in the mail! Seriously, what's more exciting than waking up to a purring cat scratching on your door and 2 little kraft boxes resting beside him...? not a lot I'm thinking.

Today's parcels:
Firstly, there was the fabulous gift (if I do say so myself) which I bought for a friend of mine for his 30th... He was born in St Petersburg in Russia, and owns two cuff-linkable shirts and no cuff-links! Not two things which are usually placed in the same sentence, I know, by look what happened when I did combine them:

I know, right!?! Fun! They're metro tokens, which the clever kids at QA Create have made into these funky cuff links. I was ever so pleased at its arrival... not only that, but they came in a little jewelry case and in a box and each of these things, including the cuff-links were individually wrapped... yep, I played pass the parcel with myself, and it was rather satisfying :)

The second parcel, was the long awaited snaps. The jury's still somewhat out on whether or not I'm completely satisfied with this arrival. Of course initially I was over the moon, having waited (and not added buttons to my new pinnies) and them having arrived, but they proved to be somewhat notorious and I've got a wee bit of mending to do on two of the now "snapped" pinnies. Hmmm...

Here are the snaps that worked... white on one side and silver on the other, I think they look really cute and of course make it much easier for busy Mummies and Daddies to dress wriggley bubs...

HOWEVER... This is an example of the casualties...

When putting the snap into the "snap setter" it is very difficult to stop the fabric from moving before you can hammer it in place, resulting in this handy hole above where I wanted the snap to live. Rather frustrating to say the least. As I've not used any form of snap attachment previously, I have nothing with which to compare this experience, but surely an addition to a small magnet into the bottom would make this process immeasurably more simple and accurate. Just a thought. Also, the hammer has a tendency to unscrew as you're hammering away, and the "snap setter" after only 8 snaps being set, is already showing significant wear and tear. That said, I AM very happy with how the ones that worked turned out, so I shall persevere... after I mend the holes that is! grrr... :)

Later in the day, I returned home to...

MORE MAIL!!! I know... how great has today been!?! These made me PROPERLY happy. They're the  sew on labels for my baby clothes... I LOVE THEM! A wonderful designer, Lisa from Mommie Made It on etsy. I am beyond impressed with them, and am very excited to finally be able to put the finishing touches on my Petit Lapin pieces... (they will be on sale on Friday!!! sssshhh, it's a secret). If you sew or create and need labels, I can't recommend her highly enough, they were very reasonably priced, designed AND shipped to Australia in 10 days and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. Check out her online store (link above).

AND last but not least... A postcard from Cyprus!

My gorgeous Swedish friend and her Mum sent it to me whilst on their "semester" (like a holiday only way cooler cause it's Swedish).

So all in all, a FABULOUS day for mail... properly chuffed.

Petit Lapin, Snaps and Lovely Art Arrivals...

OK... so, I've finally decided to be brave enough to enter the world of blogging... eek!
(yes, I realise that to many of you this is in fact NOT scary, but I'm not particularly scared of snakes, so I've decided that it evens out)

I'm currently working on my new collection of baby clothes "Petit Lapin by LittleMissSwan" which I'll be selling in some local stores and on my etsy. Still have a bit to go as my snaps have not yet arrived (you know those little things you use instead of buttons on baby clothes, so you can easily get things on and off a wriggling little bub?!).

Here is a little sneak preview:

Very excited about my current designs and have lots of things on the near horizon, including a swap with the lovely Cat from the absolutely GORGEOUS Photography by Catherine Burford
If you have not yet encountered her photography, then you MUST MUST MUST go to her site and see the loveliness, she is an incredibly talented woman and I'm properly looking forward to working with her! GO NOW! LOOK!!!

You can also find her on fb Facebook

Today a most wonderful parcel arrived from the US...
A beautifully packaged illustration print by Emma from Studiomme
SO wonderful... that and a packet of Crispy M&M's are making my day rather a lot shinier!
Isn't it fantastic?!
